San Francisco Parks

Golden Gate Park
Golden Gate Park is one of the biggest urban parks in the world housing three museums and a range of sporting facilities. Surrounding the city of San Francisco are many settlements in the Bay area.

These include Berkeley and its famous university and gardens and the technology centre at Silicon Valley. The abundant wildlife at Port Reyes makes the area popular for nature and coastal walks. Oakland with its harbour and museum are also popular with visitors. Further afield in California are the wine growing regions around Sacramento and the film industry in Hollywood. San Francisco has a lot to offer visitors to this great American city.

Lincoln Park
Lincoln Park is at the western side of San Francisco between Golden Gate Park and the Presido has views of the Golden Gate Bridge .

Presido
Changed in 1994 from a military base to a large park of nearly 1,500 acres managed by the National Parks. The middle of the park has the San Francisco National Cemetery . (415 561 4323).
