San Francisco sightseeing |

Recently I took my first trip to California. I decided to visit family members who lived out there. Since I live in the deep south, San Francisco seemed halfway across the world. Upon arriving we decided to make a quick detour to see downtown San Francisco. It really is quite impresssive with sky scrapers shooting up into the bright blue sky sitting right next to the shipping channel. Watching sailboats sailing in the mild weather was very relaxing.
In fact problems didnt occur until it was time to seek dirrections to our friends house. We could not seem to reach them, so it just seemed easier to figure out where they were and get to them. As tourists usually do, we ended up relying on some nice locals to show us directions. The locals thought there would be no problem. "Where are you going?" said the guy at the Quick Copy shop. I told him we were looking for a place called Bethel Island. "No Problem!" He whipped up his Mapquest on the computer and thought he would find it quickly, until he found out Bethel Island was so small that it didn't show up on the map.
He kept saying "I know its here somewhere, Its about an hour and a half away." I kept thinking, Oh my God! an hour and a half away from nowhere! Thank God our friends called and we were saved. |
